We are about to get in to the Holiday swing and our house projects are taking the back burner. We are contemplating some pretty serious renovations and/or additions at this point which are giving Randy some heart burn, so we are working with a GC and designer to flesh out our options and hope to have a plan right after the new year. The anticipation is killing me! Actually, living like a person on hoarders will kill me first. Happy that we get to spend time in real homes with real plates and no boxes over the next few weeks!

Just Ignore all the boxes...
and imagine a Mazda 3 and Suburu STI instead. We finally completed the first round of tasks in the garage; we like the paint, we finished the floor boards around the garage and added quarter round to cover some glaring gaps. Randy hung hooks for the huge ladder and our bikes. We also hung a strip for a few handled accoutrements. Our latest thought is to hang our old kitchen cabinet uppers on the wall where Randy's work bench is; painting them a charcoal gray/blue (Santa please bring me an electric sprayer!). Anyway, progress!

Demo Day 2
You can see the new master closet/bath a bit better now that the drywall is gone. The space on the right side of the old closet will be claimed by the bath and the front closet behind the left side of the closet will become closet. You can see the two doors in the next pic. The closest door will remain and the next door, that used to be the hall closet, will go. Hope to post some pics of the garage tomorrow.

It's a Garage Kind of Saturday
Doing some work in the garage. I don't have a great before pic, but it used to have plain concrete floors and we had an epoxy put over it. Randy painted the walls taupe before I got here; we didn't love it, too cave like. Before he painted the first time he had to remove a bunch of gross shelving. Anyway, fast forward to this weekend. We have repainted the walls Light French Gray and its so much brighter! We still need to put down some floor boards and quarter round where the walls and floor and ceiling meet respectively; add some organization system, but overall a vast improvement. Anyone have garage organization system recommendations?

Demo Day 1
So we started demo in the master bedroom. The shower stall in the master bath is too narrow to turn around in, so we are basically claiming all of the master closet that has gray cement board showing. The next little space used to be a hall closet which we are now claiming for the master closet...we will see how it goes. Already found random copper pipe to nowhere sticking up out of the floor!

Guest Room
So here is the guest room set up. This is the stuff from our old Master bedroom. I'd like to paint the walls a dark blue; I'm thinking the darkish blue in the pillow, not the navy. I'm open to other suggestions...I'll repaint the lamps...maybe the orange color in the pillow? Or gold to match the shade?

My Poor, Dear, Sweet, Kitchen....
Is a hot mess! I originally wanted to try and save these cabinets; I actually like the detail work on the doors, but they are a disaster on the inside. I need some advice; where to go for new cabinets? Big box? Local?
Bench Seating or Settee?
While I'm sitting here patiently waiting for my goods to be delivered I've started contemplating different things about the new house. Originally I was all about a built in buffet, but now, standing in the space, I'm concerned that the buffet would cause the table and chairs to move to far in to the room since the room is basically a hallway to the Florida room. Thoughts? Other ideas?
