Progression...Regression

In the words of Paula Abdul...two steps forward, two steps back. On one side of the sunroom we have out first coat of wall paint....

And on the other, a leak. Suckfest 2013. The drywall was wet, so I poked it...it crumbled...we hammered it...followed under the window and then saw all of this lovely rot and daylight...never a good sign. This side of the sunroom is where all of the water runs off...I see new walls and gutters in our future...Randy is looking for a match.

Quick Update

We have been slaving away in the sunroom painting the ceiling white; this is one coat in...I think we will do one more coat on the ceiling tomorrow and then hopefully knock out the walls on Thursday. We also got a microwave!!!

Installation Saturday

This has been a long day. We were up early for our long run, then, Randy went to the dump and I installed the walk in closet in the master bedroom. We sat down for lunch and then went right back at it with our appliances.  We installed the washer no problem. Had a parts malfunction on the dryer, oven and fridge requiring me to make a trip to Best Buy and Home Depot while Randy went to the dump...again.  After we met back up at the house we finished dryer install and stacking, oven install and refrigerator install. We have a functioning kitchen. We started on the ToTo but ran in to another parts issue so we decided to shower (ahhh, first time I the new HUGE master shower), grab some pizza and then decide if we are up for another parts run. Whew.

Light 'em up, up, up

We have light switches and bulbs and light and stuff!!!! Crazy how much we take this stuff for granted. I'm still walking around with my phone as a flash light forgetting that I have the option! All of the rooms have wonderful, beautiful, glorious cans...the light providing variety (didn't want Randall to get in a wreck running home to see them).

We've actually started unpacking kitchen stuff and I'm sure we will install the appliances ourselves over the weekend. We just might have dinner at home on Sunday!

The Throne Awaits

Randy's gerumpadumper was installed today, along with all of the other master bathroom fixtures. We need the electrical to be finished before installing the toilet seat, so I'm leaving the wrap on to make sure no one uses it before Randall. 

The kitchen faucet was also installed.

I'll try to take better pics tomorrow in the day light. I thought the electrical was going to start again today, but I can't tell if it has. The electrical is supposed to be finished tomorrow but we'll see. Either way we are bringing our stuff inside from the POD because it's being picked up Friday.  Should be a busy weekend!

Holy Windows Batman!

Loving our new windows; inside and out. The window closest to the laundry is a new addition. I think it will make a huge difference in making the kitchen seem bigger than it is. Our bathroom also got painted. Sounds like we will be wrapped up on Thursday! Trim tonight, electrical, final paint and bathroom counter tomorrow, appliances and final electrical and plumbing Thursday!

Paint and Hardware Update

The only areas left to paint are the master bathroom and trim! Most of the rooms are a light gray but the laundry is BRIGHT blue!

Planked

We are a couple boards short of finishing the ceiling, it got a bit dark last night.

The paint is coming along as well. It looks like most of the ceilings have been painted and the base trim caulked. Hopefully at least the walls will be completed today. We should also get kitchen hardware, brackets for our granite bar under the window and a few other small things. Our POD gets picked up next Friday so here's hoping our house can take it.

We had a close call the last couple of days with the AC. It went out and we were afraid that we were going to need a new one. Turned out to be a blown fuse, dodged a bullet.

Countertops and Ceiling Work

Our kitchen countertops were installed today. They are Black Pearl granite.

 Also, the tongue and groove continues!

We started installing the planks! I think they will look really good after we are finished and they get painted.

More Pics

Not a ton of progress today that you can see in pics, but all of the floors are completely finished, so is the bathroom and fireplace tile (minus the blue tape). The counter tops for our kitchen and vanity were measured this afternoon and the kitchen cabinets were finished. Tomorrow we are getting new baseboards and door trim.

They.Are.In. It's looking good. They also started the fireplace and began grouting the bathroom floor. They also installed the stone 'step up' in the shower.
