I ordered these pillows today for the new master bedroom as a jumping off point. The only other things I have determined to date are that the floors will be dark brown porcelain 'wood' tiles and that we will have large white baseboards and trim.

Master Bathroom Ideas
Here is a pic of a lot of other pics to give you an idea about what we are thinking in the master bathroom:
The bathroom is roughly 5 feet by 8 feet. You enter the bath on one of the 8 foot walls from the master bedroom. The door currently swings into the bathroom, but we are going to make it a sliding door (using the existing solid wood door).
The door opening is roughly 2 feet. So, when you enter the bath the vanity, light, mirror etc. are on your right and the opening to the new shower will be on the left.
Following to the right on one of the 5 foot walls after the vanity area is the toilet (I'll let Randy figure that out). The plan is to replace the current vanity with a wood grain one like above with a white marble top and small, rectangular white porcelain sink, add a tilting mirror, perhaps a glass shelf and over mirror light. We will also add a wood grain cabinet above the toilet for additional storage.
The other 8 foot wall opposite of the entrance is roughly half wall and bathroom and half shower. The current plan is to mirror the whole bathroom wall part of this wall to reflect the only window in the master bedroom when the door is open and generally make the space look bigger like above...I'm also considering a small curtain like above between the vanity and toilet for a bit more privacy...I miss my water closet. The rest of this wall will be in the shower. This is also the wall that the sheet of glass shower stall will be fastened to (as above).
The other 5 foot wall which is entirely in the shower will be tiled and have one long shampoo niche. Which brings us back to the wall with the sliding door opening. The idea is also that the whole room (save the mirror part of the wall) will be larger subway tile from basically chair rail height down. Above the 'rail' will be the smaller subway tile but only in the shower enclosure...I am also contemplating tiling the shower ceiling...the rest of the exposed walls will be painted the gray color in the pic above that is between the vanity idea and the mirror idea. Finally, the floor in the bathroom will probably be white marble set on the diagonal above and will probably go into the shower, we'll see. The base boards in the room will probably also be slab white marble. We are also considering radiant heat in the floor...there is a lot of stone in there :)
As an FYI, there is a small, square skylight in the middle of the bathroom and also a flush mount light in the shower.

And the winner is....
None of the drawings posted!!! Ultimately we decided that the reno wouldn't be worth the money. I'll post soon about the finishes we are considering for the remodel.
Well Hung
And the old kitchen cabinets are up! Next they need to be lightly sanded, primed and painted; we are thinking a really dark gray.

Let Me Update Ya!
I am meeting with our GC tomorrow to discuss budget for our original concept (renovate the existing floor plan and the new concept (expand the floor plan). After seeing the drawings there are things I really love about the expansion, but I'm not convinced that it's a great investment. We aren't adding a bedroom or bath; just square footage. We would have to watch the budget really closely. Here they are:
Deck on the Left and Master Bath on the Right:
LOVE the walk-in closet and the combination shower/tub. I would put as many windows in that bathroom as possible; that side of the house has great light. I think I would also add an opening from the master bedroom to the family room.

To give you an idea about what a tub in a shower looks like:
Deck on the Right, Master Suite on the Left, Reno Spare Rooms:
Holy walk-in closet Batman! Don't like the Master Suite doors being in the direct sight line from the front door; I think I prefer that room to be living...I still like the idea of a renovated jack-and-jill bath for the spare bedrooms.
Deck on the Left, Master Bedroom on the Right:
Most preferred floor plan; BIGGEST reasonable closet option; bring on the spa tub and shower...looks cheap. ;)

Dumps like a truck, truck!
Trip one (of many I'm sure) to the dump in Randy's new truck. Progress! I think we will try to bring some carpet out tomorrow.
P.S. the single story addition was approved by the building official so out designer is working on some floor plan options. We are also working on getting permission from our neighbor.

Rejected
The two story elevation addition to the sunroom/back of the house was rejected, so we are moving forward with the single level expansion. If that is approved by the Building Official we will move forward with that option; if it is rejected, we may still be able to move forward with another two story option off the front of the house (our only conforming wall). We'll see how it goes...below is an elevation of the final two story option.

I'm in Love with a Stripper!
This stuff is AH-MAZING!!!! The paint is just falling off these old kitchen cabinets. May just be the type of paint and veneer though...should be easy scraping.

It's Sketchy
Here are some drawings from our designer. We found out that none of our exterior walls conform to current zoning standards. As a result, we need to submit some options to the city of Winter Park to see what they may make an exception for to allow the additional square footage that we are seeking. Our designer has come up with 2 options.
Option 1: the footprint is basically expanded to the whole length of the back of the house instead of just the sun-room bump-out we have now. I like the footprint; don't love the room layout.
Option 2: the footprint is expanded from the sun-room to basically claim the existing deck and a second story is added to the top of it. I like this footprint too; but again, don't love the room layout.
After the city decides which option they like best we can work some more on the interior room layout.

Up-pers and Out!
We took out the upper cabinets today; it's so much brighter in the kitchen without them. We are going to paint the old uppers and hang them up in the garage. Take a good look at the mold shot -- yummy.

Parquet Part II
And it keeps going. Removal was relatively easy-going in the original area of the kitchen. However, it s-u-c-k-e-d in the addition area connecting the kitchen to the laundry/garage. The new parquet was adhered to the concrete with some sort of industrial strength liquid nails. this gave us all the nudge we needed to buy an air compressor and pneumatic chisel. We have just poured and spread an adhesive remover; we'll see how that goes. The entire area is definitely going to need a new layer of thin-set or something to even out the area.

We're back! Peace out Parquet!
We are still waiting on some estimates for work, but I've started to take up the parquet anyway...it's pretty slow going with a hammer and small crowbar...maybe I can convince Randy to buy the proper scraper...not likely :)
